Terms & Conditions
The terms governing your use of this website and our service.
Last updated: 4 June 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Engineer Select website and our service connecting clients with chartered and registered engineers. By using this website or posting a project, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What we do
Engineer Select is a marketplace that introduces clients to chartered and registered engineers and facilitates fee proposals. We are not an engineer and do not provide engineering services ourselves. Any engineering advice, design, computations, certification, documentation or services are provided by the independent engineer you engage, under their own client agreement.
3. Posting a project
When you post a project you agree to provide accurate information about it. Posting a project does not create a contract with any engineer — it is an invitation for matched engineers to assess your project and respond with a fee proposal. No engagement exists until you accept a proposal and engage an engineer.
4. Engineers, registration & engagement
Engineers on the platform represent that they are chartered or registered professionals — for example holding CPEng status with Engineers Australia, listed on the National Engineering Register (NER), or registered as RPEQ in Queensland — and that they hold professional indemnity (PI) insurance. The professional services you receive are governed by the agreement between you and the engineer you engage, which prevails over this website. We facilitate the introduction and the deposit; we are not a party to that agreement.
5. Fees, deposits & proposals
Posting a project and comparing fee proposals is free for clients. Fee proposals are prepared by individual engineers and are indicative until confirmed in their client agreement. When you choose an engineer, you pay a small deposit through Engineer Select to engage them, which goes towards their fee. The engineer's proposal and agreement set out how their remaining fees are staged.
6. No guarantee of outcomes
While we verify engineers' chartered or registered status and insurance, we do not guarantee any particular engineer, proposal, price, certification, approval outcome or result. You are responsible for selecting the engineer that suits your project and for satisfying yourself as to their suitability before you engage them.
7. Website use
The content, branding and design of this website are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Images may be illustrative of disciplines and quality. We aim to keep information accurate but do not warrant that it is complete or error-free.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law our liability arising from this website and our introduction service is limited to re-supplying the relevant service.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
